Local Firms Wins BBQ Cook-Off

FDW wins awards at the First Annual Festival and BBQ Competition, taking 2nd place in chicken and seafood, 3rd place in Brunswick stew and sauce and 1st place in Best Beach Party! On November 7th, State Representative Glenn Baker and Clayton County Commissioner Michael Edmondson, in conjunction with Clayton County Parks and Recreation, held the first annual Festival and Bar B Que Competition at Clayton County International Park ("The Beach"). Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and performing groups from schools around the county were among the many youth organizations participating in the "Kids Day" festivities. Over a dozen local businesses, including FDW, participated in the Bar B Que competition. FDW's winning team was comprised of FDW partner/chef Mike Williams; Housing Authority of Clayton County Board Member/FDW client Robert Walker; FDW business manager Lee Fincher; and FDW paralegal Rena Jefferson. Several FDW clients and friends enjoyed dropping by and judging how tasty the food was for themselves! Proceeds from the event will go to fund scholarships for Georgia Kids Outdoors, which provides opportunities for youth to attend camps through Clayton County Parks and Recreation.
